RICORP has a long history of advocating for agencies serving children and youth. From agency funding concerns, collaborating with DCYF to improve child and youth policies & regulations, returning youth from out of state placements, training and conferences, Best in Child Care Recognition and Awards, to fire suppressant sprinklers systems, or setting up a first aid training, RICORP gave a helping hand.
RICORP also specializes in assisting those smaller agencies that may have limited resources. We are ready to help.
The national Child & Youth Care Certification Board (CYCCB) provides an assessment process and certification to child and youth care practitioners who demonstrate their commitment to high standards of care and commitment to ongoing competence development. The CYC certification program is the most rigorous demonstration of competence in the field. RICORP is now a certification testing site with an available Proctor to assist you in your certification process.
CYCCB
Provides three levels of certification:
1. Entry (CYC)
2. Associate (CYC-A)
3. Professional (CYC-P)
Please contact us if you desire national certification.
The Council had developed a Certificate in Children's Residential Programming with the Community College of Rhode Island. Completion of the certificate is the half-way mark towards an Associates degree. The "RICORP Certification Program" provided training (and certification) for direct care workers, supervisors, and clinicians who work in children's residential programs.
We are hoping to re-establish this program.
